Hello, My Name is Kate Perry and I’ve Been Drinking – that was the first show I penned and performed in.  I am originally from Co. Tyrone and currently live in London.  Other work includes an adaptation of the novel No Mate for the Magpie, which premiered in the U.S.A. and later toured throughout Ireland and a short film Mañana featured on RTE and shown at the Galway Film Festival.

My radio plays have been broadcast on BBC Radio 4, RTE Radio 1, BBC Northern Ireland and Woman’s Hour.  You can have a listen to them on the site.  Go on – you know you want to.

Besides writing and performing my own material I have appeared in numerous stage, film and television productions.  I am also a voice over artist (yes you can listen to those too) and graduated with a distinction from Trinity College, Dublin with an MPhil in creative writing.  I also hold a master’s degree in screenwriting from the Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dun Laoghaire. I have been the beneficiary of funding from the arts council Irish film board and have attended artist residency programmes in Ireland and the U.S.A.

The Very Perry Show was presented at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe and transferred to The San Francisco International Arts Festival June 2016. It is now whistling its way to the Craic Theatre in Coalisland in February and The Hope Theatre, London in March.

Stay tuned folks . . .
